As I write this, the year 2020 has been happening for 317 days, 16 hours, 40 minutes, and 12 seconds. I know that because I’ve pretty much been counting this entire time. We all have. We’ve had little else to do. It’s been a year we’ll never forget, no matter how hard we try. But if we’re going to remember it with horror, maybe it can at least be a sort of funny horror, and nobody excels at funny horror better than Twitter.

Here are ten tweets to help us remember 2020 with at least a tiny bit of a smile.

10. Rounding the bases

But nobody’s ever out.

9. Do you have to let it linger

All of us just yawning performatively and saying “would you look at the time” as loud as we can.

8. Steve-o-meter

I like how we’ve kinda made peace with it by the end.

7. The good old days

The grass is always greener on the other side of the global emergency.

6. Pick and choose

I hope it’s for all the right reasons.

5. Remembering sasquatch

For all we know he could be sick too, it’s more important than ever.

4. The three stages

Fodder for tacky wall art from here unto eternity.

3. Pew pew pew

Also yelling at people from across the street is now normalized.

2. How low can you go

But who can deny the absolute magic of a zoom date.

1. The future is bright

We’re far from out of the woods, kids.

So long, 2020. It’s been not at all nice knowing you.

What’s your craziest memory from this year?
