My parents are both teachers, and they have been my entire life.
My dad’s not into technology, but as he teaches P.E., that’s not a huge part of his job. My mom keeps up a little better, but was definitely on the struggle bus this year when she found herself trying to conduct classes over video for the first time. I bought her a microphone with a mute button, tried to give her a few tips, and said that on the bright side, a whole bunch of people would be learning some new skills this year out of necessity.
But it’s not just the older generations that are having trouble navigating this – kids are having plenty of hilarious problems of their own.
Like these twelve examples:
12. A baby penguin
Ok but like…why are you doing that right now?
11. Volume down
At what point do you realize the problem is on your end?
10. A practice one
Oh. Oh buddy. No no no no no no.
9. Step to the beat
Pretty clearly staged but wholesome nonetheless.
8. She’s sleeping
They’re getting younger every year.
7. Removal services
Benjamin, we need to hear your story.
“Benjamin has been removed” #zoom
6. Acting out
As someone who has worked in the theatre industry for years, yup.
5. Your walk out song
A video within a video.
Yes I submitted the video, and yes, the professor responded to it.
4. Wii are hilarious
Wait how did you even do that?
3. About to pop
Well, that was predictable.
2. Because I’m me
When you watch everybody watch you watch somebody.
1. Test failed
The true test was one of focus.
Of all the weirdness 2020 has brought us, I’m guessing more kids have said “I miss being in a classroom” than ever before in history.
Have you had zoom struggles this year?
Tell us about them in the comments.
