The #YouHaveToStop trend contrasts its tough message with light and lovely music that originated in this clip by user @hannah_harpist:
The trend itself tackles a very simple premise: there are things that people just need to stop doing. And it’s time those things were spoken aloud.
Here are thirteen examples of what you don’t get to partake in anymore, so saith the internet:
13. Asking questions during the movie
I don’t know any more than you do. We are watching the same thing.
we have to stop normalizing “wait, what is happening?” and “who is that?” #youhaveto
12. Leaving the door open
This shot me way back to my childhood days living with my parents.
11. Lying about being on the way
“Omw” = “I’m slowly putting on pants.”
10. Calling people on vacation
America has no idea how to leave work at work.
9. Constant finger guns
You could hurt someone with those things.
8. Adding fractions to your height
This is some real 5’4 1/8″ energy right here.
7. Leaving your feet dirty
I feel judged but you’re not wrong.
6. Stealing fries
If you wanted fries you should have ordered fries. They’re like $2, come on man.
5. Sending a bunch of tiny texts
The constant dinging of my phone makes me feel insane.
4. Labeling all your new posts
I didn’t even know this was a problem but now I’m really glad I’m not on Instagram much.
3. Ignoring your blinker
It takes ssssooooo little effort.
i lose respect for you if you think ur too cool for a blinker
2. Saying “chai tea latte”
Thanks a latte for this advice.
also it’s pronounced both “chai” and “cha” doesn’t matter, it’s all 🍇✨#voiceeffects
1. Following and unfollowing
This is some pettiness right here.
Personally, these all get my stamp of approval. Ban ’em all.
